Ducted Vacuum System Types

There are three types of systems to chose from a Standard System, Retractable System or a Hybrid system. Both systems consist of a high powered vacuum unit, generally located in a garage keeping the noise and air disturbances out of the home. Most of the vacuum unit's we supply have a 55 Litre collection drum meaning you only need to empty it every 6-12 months.   We can Install a system for you or design and support you to do it yourself.

Standard ducted vacuum System

A standard system consists of a number of inlets located around the house connected via pipe work back to the vacuum unit in the garage. To use system the flap on the inlet is opened and the hose is plugged in causing the machine to start. Cleaning tools are attached to the end of the hose and dust and dirt is sucked back to the machine. When the job is completed the hose is wound up and stored on a hanger in a convenient location.

Most hoses these days come with a switch on the end of the handle allowing the system to be conveniently turned on and off. Hoses can now also have a hose sock fitted making it smooth and soft to protect the walls and furniture within your home.

Chameleon Retractable ducted vacuum System

A Chameleon retractable ducted vacuum system makes vacuuming even more convenient by removing the need to carry the hose around the house and finding somewhere to store the hose. With a retractable system the hose is stored within the wall inlet, when you need to vacuum you simply open the inlet cover plate, pull out the hose, lock it in place and turn the system on.

When you have finished you simply release the lock and the hose retracts back into the wall. As there is no need to carry and store a hose, longer hoses can be used in a retractable system, reducing the overall number of wall plates required.

Hybrid ducted vacuum System

A Hybrid ducted vacuum system combines the benefit of a retractable system at the affordability level of a standard system. With a hybrid system a retractable inlet is installed (usually in the most used area of the home such as kitchen/meals area). This hose can be used to quickly clean up daily messes nut when it comes to the weekly clean can be removed and plugged into other standard inlets around the home.

When you have finished you simply take the hose back to the retractable inlet, clip it back into the wall, release the lock and the hose retracts back into the wall.

A Sweep point at the bottom of a cupboard (usually on the kitchen cupboard kick-board) allows instant sweeping up of dirt without the need to get the hose out.

A Wally Hose hangs on the wall in a laundry or WIR ready to vacuum up those dry spills in the laundry or remove lint or hair from your clothes.

The Spot Vac is similar to the Chameleon hose, but has a much shorter stretch hose. It is great for quickly cleaning up spills in the laundry, Kitchen/butlers pantry or a WIR/Ensuite.
